JDate is the leading Jewish Singles network, a “uniquely Jewish scene” they claim. Apparently I am Jewish and looking for Jewish companionship on-line. Nevermind that my middle name is Christian, which I would have though could be a tip off, they’re sending me emails anyway. I’m not actually bothered by the service or the idea but I am bothered by the fact that a seemingly legitamate company has allowed an account to be created with an email address not validated by the owner. In the good old days there was no validation or only initial email validation on account creation. Create account with your email, validate, change email address to unsuspecting friend. Ha ha ha. Most sites have figured that out and expect each email address change to be validated by a reply from that email address or by clicking a link sent to that email address. They mailed me a link to delete my account. I can’t sign in as I didn’t create it!!! They sent me a link to write to them. It didn’t work. Nice.I finally told JDate to take a hike and code up a validation module after they fixed the contact us web page. If anyone is looking for a web consulting job drop them a mail, they could use the help. If you’re looking for Jewish companionship I’d look elsewhere. If they’re not bright enough to run a web site I’d worry about them setting me up on a date.I am assuming for now that a certain Fetterman or a Lieberman, password was nerdy so I’m leaning towards Lieberman, has signed me up for this new service. Let the accusations fly!!! If anything arrives in their inbox in the near future it’s not from me, as far as you know.
JDate.com is stalking me.
