Last night I went to the ESPN Star Studios in Singapore and watched Sportscenter Asia broadcast live. Dez, a fellow footballer from the Brewerkz cosmoleague team, is the executive producer there and gave me a tour of the shop. It was really interesting to see everything that was going on for a live TV show. The comparison between a mostly TV media place and Marketwatch which is a mainly web media place was interesting also.ESPN Star like many companies in Asia doesn’t just cover/broadcast in Singapore. They cover all of Asia including India. This means 13 different broadcasts at the same time. Speaking in Mandarin, Hindi, and English with graphics additionally in Malay and Thai. Crazy to keep track of.If I was in the states fat chance I would be able to get into the studios in Bristol. But this is Singapore and the odds of knowing people who do cool stuff is much higher. I even knew one of the presenters that evening. Small world. Watching Sportscenter from the Control booth, Very cool.
